Best brokerage for convicted drivers?

Banned for two years and one day. Applying for early restoration soon and everything going well will have my license back in feb.

Anyone know who quotes convicted drink drivers?
Without the high horse cavalry hurling abuse and useless non informative comments just wondering has anyone been in the same situation and what their insurance is and what car its on?

    Thanks lads..

I'm fairly sure you will have to go through xsdirect for a few years to build up your ncb.

Full license for 3 years, 2 years NCB and 3 years named driver experience.. 23.. xsdirect my best choice u think?

http://www.travelers.ie/ are traditionally the main insurance company who look after high-risk drivers and vehicles.

Quite likely that the length of time you've held your licence and your named driver experience will count for nil. The disqualification offsets both of them a number of times over. Your NCB will still hold valid for two years since you last had an insurance policy.

Any decent motor broker will get you a quote(s). It'll be expensive though.

Actually, I was wrong, they don't insure people with convictions :( sorry about that.
I thought they would be the best option in terms of getting a quote that isn't 5 grand.

Like the others say, ring around, that's what you will need to do.
Don't bother with the web quotes,in your situation, it's a waste of time

There are potentially many insurers seamus. ARB or through Lloyds would be possibilities also. Travelers do not have an overly high market share in this area.

Travellers are pulling out of the Irish personal lines market from October 1st this year.

OP,your insurer at the time of the conviction have to quote for you so you really should call them first. They may well be the only one that will quote for you anyway so you might just save yourself a buttload of pointless work.

I work in a brokers and it was announced around 4 or 5 weeks ago.Anyone whose renewal is due after October 1st we cant offer Travellers to,likewise with any new business for customers after October 1st.Id say you will get notification with your renewal notice. They are retaining their commercial (business) lines prescence though.

    Cheers lads..
Got a quote from Creane & Creane on my 320d bmw for 2300 :O :O it's €660 without the conviction thats unreal :/ Maybe I should count myself lucky its not more .. although percentage wise thats a savage % loading !!!!! F*ckin madness

    Also while I had her on the phone I asked for a quote on a 1.6vti civic, 2700 :O :O !!!!! And 2600 on a standard 1.4 ha..

Count my lucky stars I can even get a quote to be honest.

Only just switched to Travellers and all (not for any licence issues though, they were just cheapest by a long shot). Coupled with that I go through Culletons in Wexford and they've just announced they are doing some major re-org and closing all but one of their offices. Looks like I'll be doing major hunt around again next year!

your best bet is to get a smaller size car for a few years, you would proberly insure a 1L or 1.1 for a grand.

You should try easyquote and also i heard mccarthy's in fermoy do a good deal for convictions.

Wouldn't mind paying a little over a grand, just not near two and there would be no complaints and Thanks will try them tomorrow see if i can get a better quote :)

Keep 'em comin lads :) Kinda want to keep this car since selling it now would only result in further loss and have spent quite a bit on it
