    I know is was a rumor a while ago but are apple due to make an announcement today or is there another date we should be looking out for.

    No. There's no date yet for the iPhone 5 event. Apple will release a press release at least a week or two in advance.

    It may not even be an iPhone 5 we could be seeing an iPhone 4GS but if the rumors are any thing to go by the event will be pretty soon.
