TV Calibration

    Hey Guys,

Looking for a little bit of advice or direction please.

I am thinking about calibrating my tv and from what i gather a professional service is just too expensive so I would like to attempt it myself.

My tv is actually a couple of years old (it's the excellent Panasonic 42G10) but I've only recently regularly started watching blu-rays and I'm finding it hard to get settings I like.

I've found a guide to home calibration which seems to be very clear and concise and something I could definitely manage

There seems to be two possible products for home calibration with the better option being the X-Rite Eye-One LT.

    So, a few things then:

    Should I calibrate my tv?
Is this Eye-One IT worth it?
Is it possible to rent or loan the Eye-One?
My tv has 4 default picture modes whereby the settings can be adjusted indivudally. By calibrating am I basically overwriting one of the modes with the outputs of the calibration?

Any and all advice really appreciated as I am just starting out on my research.
