one for the handicap gurus !

lets say one is off 18, and plays a competition on a Friday, and scores 40 points.
There is a competition on the Saturday morning also. Now, I believe, you have to manually adjust your handicap now for the Saturday competition.

    What's the general rule,
is the new adjusted handicap 16.8 now ?

    18 - ((40 -36) * .3) = 16.8

The 36 above needs to be the CSS and not the points played to par. CSS is not always 36 so check with the club to confirm what the CSS was. For instance if the CSS was 34 possibly due to tough playing conditions on an tough course then the new handicap would be 16.2 so you'd have to play off 16 on Sat and if you played off 17 you'd be disqualified for playing off too high a handicap.

Yes that is possible and if that's the case then use the SSS off the card, but you must make every effort possible to find out the CSS.

It should be known Fri night after the competition is closed. AFAIK even competitions held over multiple days have a separate CSS for each day played to account for the varying playing conditions.

Yea I think in theory that is correct but in practise it doesn't always happen.
