Car left sitting -whats its value now?

Hi all, I currently own a 1.3 3 Door 1997 Toyota Starlet, it was left to me by my granny as she doesn't drive any more. Now the car genuinely has 40,000 miles on it. It passed the NCT two years ago, and has done approx. 35miles since.! The car was perfect two years ago, but has been parked in the garage since.
Now, can any one tell me how much is it worth? (not much i know) just want a figure... would it be best if I NCT it myself, or just sell it off, without the hassle?

Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks!

You'll still probably get 800 euro for it. Starlets are depreciation proof.

If she's in such good nick, test it yourself. The €50 will add a few pound and reduce any bartering on price.

With the low miles, top condition, nct, you'll be sitting on the top end of what they go for.

Given it costs you nothing, don't be too hungry.

oh thats a tough one,so u have no comeback i would get it nct done, put it up for 1400 and leave it go for 1000/1100 as by the sounds of it its a mint car and never abused

Maybe a little strong, 9 minimum though. I know theres not alot of difference in your price and mine, but when your dealing in 100's not 1000's :pac:

You need to do a visual check on them - very possible they may have suffered a degree of perishing.

In my opinion, if you are able to I would be keeping that car if I were you. It can't really lose any more money in depreciation and if the car is as genuine as it sounds it could appreciate should you keep it another 10 years or so...

Its an absolute steal though were someone to buy it for €800 ish...

Once its been in a shed it should be ok. just check they have the now mandatory "E" mark.

Does it start, and run well and can you engage and disengage the clutch? Will the battery hold a charge and crank it? If it has stood for a couple years you might want to put some fresh petrol in it before trying to start it. You obviously want to make sure it is drivable before you start counting your chickens and go advertising it.
