What's the DCU Karting Society like?

I was just reading through the list of Clubs & Societies and this one caught my eye. I don't go karting very often, in fact I can count on one hand the amount of times I've actually gone karting, but I'm big into car racing and thought joining this society would be great to meet new people who I have a common interest with as I try to settle into university life. Is it very expensive to go on the trips throughout the year? If anyone reading this is/was a member of this society it would be great to read about your experiences.

The weekly trips are very affordable - about 10 euros or so each. They're held on Wednesdays so make sure to keep your Wednesdays free.

I had never gone karting before going on a karting soc trip to Galway. Everyone was so welcoming and I had a great time. The equipment is all included in the price. I'd highly recommend joining.

So you join the scoiety, pay 10 euro per week and get to go karting?

    think i'll be joining! :D

Yup. It costs 4 euros to join any club or society but then you'll be signed up to their mailing list for the year so will get to hear about all the events that are happening.

The karting trips are way cheaper through the soc than they would be otherwise.

I noticed on the society's website that they try to organise a weekend away once per semester. Can I assume for this that most of the regular outings are in places near DCU?
