what am i entitled to?

    Hi
    i have been working for the last two years but was laid off today. can anyone tell me what exactly am i entitled to as this is my first time on it. is there anything other then the 188 euro ?

    You can apply for rent allowance if you have been renting for 6 months. You can also apply for fuel allowance for a portion of the year. (that is means tested and got for one person per household - i pretty sure that the other people in the house need to be unemployed also). Medical card also.

    mortgage interest relief could be another - some of your entitlements will depend on whether or not you're co -habiting and if so is partner working, renting, homeowner, have kids etc etc. citizen advice can fill you in on all of it. but you will get the €188pw providing stamps are paid up, for the statutory length of time which is around 11 months.

    hopefully you will find work again soon,my only advice would be to try and keep the head up and look after yourself mentally and try not to let it get you down to much,im on a job in england at the mo,will be back at christmas and in the same situation.
