nope. get the PAYE registered number off your new employer and ring/visit your local, friendly Revenue office ;) That's if you're signing off to start a new job? I

No, you need to fill in a 12A form to apply for your tax credits. Your new employer should have one or you can download them from revenue.ie

well, i was working in the job until april then my employment ceased and i signed on. i am going back to the same job now...i can't remember if i gave the social welfare office my p45 or not, but i can't seem to find it anywhere so i'm guessing i did! can i get my employer to re-issue my p45 or do i have to go to the tax office? thanks!

You still need to get in touch with the Revenue, I'm afraid. Hassle, I know, but you can end up owing tax to the Revenue at the end of the year if you don't tell them each time you stop and start a job. Enjoy!

I'm in the same boat and need to sign off. I searched the revenue.ie website but found no mention of a form 12A

Your P45 from your previous employer comes in 2 parts. Part 2 is what you should give to Social Welfare for claiming Benefits. Part 1 is what you give to your new employer to avoid paying emergency Tax. If you finish and start work within the same tax year there is no need to go to Revenue as your Tax Credits remain the same but if you have a change in circumstance (i.e. got married or had another child etc) you will need to visit the tax office to update your credits.
