Student Grant

I applied for a student grant back in July online but I didn't send in any documents because I wanted to send all of them in at the same time when I got my course offer.
I'm still waiting for a letter from the HSE and after I get it in about 1-2 days, I'll send in all the documents neccessary.

Am I too late? Should I have send the ones I had earlier or what? Some people told me that I should have sent in all the documents in August.

Also does that mean that I'll have to wait a few months to get a grant if I'm eligible because I was so late with the documents?

Just get them in asap. All I can tell you is the grants are processed in the order they received them aka first come, first serve. I handed all my documents in on the 12th of august and haven't received anything/ heard anything.

I got told i should hand my app in even if I was missing documents. I can't see how this is any benefit because the council only take your application when its complete and send it back if its not. Just depends how many applications they have to process so its hard to say. Wouldn't count on it coming through any time soon though.

What about that 2000 euro charge in universities? Is there a deadline for it?

Contact your fees office at your university. I got told that if I don't pay the fees on time( or have a letter saying I've been approved for a grant) I won't have access to my student account ( as well as a late fee of 200ish euro) . no online facilities, can't use library. At first I didnt think it was a big deal but my girlfriend( post grad) told me it's essential. Struggle without it and don't want to get behind from the very beginning.
