Is there are any sign of an rte player app for mobile devices coming along? rte player on the android web browsers works but it would be better to have a dedicated app.

Plans were announced as far back as April for this to be released before end of year. http://www.siliconrepublic.com/new-media/item/21396-rt-confirms-rt-player/
I have the unofficial app which suffices but am looking forward to the official one coming

Yeah, an App would be nice, I have a Nexus S and the player works perfectly on the Opera Mobile browser. It's just a little slow to Navagate around the site itself.

Very handy for watching the Ireland game today at work, all the iPhone lads were pure sickened!

You can make your own app on www.appsgeyser.com

Just input a webpage and it will create the app for you. If you are making one for RTE Player I suggest you use the large version of the player found here... http://www.rte.ie/playerxl

Thank you for contacting RTÉ Player with your query.

We do not have any plans to release an Android app for the Player this year but will take your comments on board for future developments of the Player. Should you wish to watch the Player on your android phone the Player XL may be easier for you to use. http://www.rte.ie/playerxl/#s=home

    Best wishes.
