Via Sam the Aerialman. It will be interesting to see when the full power tests are scheduled. Still no firm dates for NI DSO although there will be an engineering lock down in the period around the London 2012 Olympics.

I thought all this will be completed before the London 2012 Olympics?

It could easily be - but believe the DSO for NI will be around Nov 2012

I doubt we will get DSO before the Olympics, as great as it would be if we did. They'll probably postpone the DSO for NI until later 2012 and use the Olympics as the excuse, even though thats the excuse we want them to use to bring it ahead of schedule!

Very good point. Also think DSO here will be in tandem with DSO across the border so probably as you say late 2012.

    Brougher switchover April 2012.
    Limavady switchover September 2012.
Divis switchover and close of DSO program is November 2012.

These were the original rumoured NI DSO dates posted by Sam the Aerialman, but the date for Brougher Mt may have since changed with the London DSO taking place in April.
Just to add Arqiva have confirmed that Divis will switchover in November 2012 not March 2013 as is commented in places. There will be a planned retune of frequencies at possibly Divis & Caldbeck to uprate the COM muxes at Caldbeck which are currently low powered.

Brougher will go in April in time for the Olympics and Limavady will go in September. There's to be some re-jig to switch Crystal Palace, Rowridge & Hannington in Q1 of 2012. Midhurst and Heathfield will then be switched over mid summer.

Michael Wilson, Managing Director of UTV in an interview last month said switchover would be starting "towards the second half of next year".

The DigitalUK's National Manager for NI Denis Wolinski (though not officially announced yet) was due to be full time from Sept.

I speculated some months ago that a joint North/South announcement was likely (intergovernmental MoU Feb 2010), with our ASO awareness campaign due to start by early October and 12 month countdown to ASO in October 2012. The Minister announced at the Saorview launch in late May a precise date would be announced in late Summer.

An announcement could happen within the next 3-4 weeks.
