Hi is this stat the one that comes fitted with the boiler or are you talking about a pipe stat fitted on the stove pipework?

I would presume you mean the one that comes fitted with the stove. Is it a stanley stove with thermostat?

This stat would have numbers 0-9 etc If this is the case I would try it on the highest setting and if the house is too warm turn down until the house is warm enough. It will be trial and error until you find the right temperature setting to leave it at.

If a pipe stat no less than 40 degrees.
