upc ireland and britain

dia daoibh was looking at upc boxes on ebay and found one from england with card.now,my question is,will this english box work just the same here as it did in england.is the english upc signal the same as the irish? i tried to google it and phone upc themselves but got nowhere. anyone have an idea? ps yes i am trying…
