Modern warfare 2 host migration problem help !

Hey guys im only a few week on modern warfare 2 online multi player and all has been fine so far, I made it to level 32 yesterday and since then everytime I join a match the game starts to glitch and kicks me out and says something about a host migration problem I tried it again this morning and its still the same, so far ive cleaned the disc and reset my router neither of which worked, I usually play team deathmatch or free for all any help would be greatly appreciated

Is it happenening every game as you join?

Rather than being hosted on dedicated servers consoles are run via p2p, meaning that one player in every game is host (usually the one with the best connection). If they leave the game once it's started host migration will occur. It'll also occur if the game deems them a bad host and picks someone new to be host (they'll be kicked from the game)

yea leeg every game since about 7pm yesterday I just keep getting lobby closed before the game even starts or it lets me play for about 40 seconds then starts to glitch and kicks me out, just tried a game there and this time it said server connection timed out then game lobby closed

From what you said there I'm thinking it's more to do with your connection. Try turning the router off at the wall for 5 minutes and then press the restart button on it, see if that helps.

Can you post a Speedtest.net result here too please?

ok here is my speed test. and ive just reset the router and moved it closer to the window to try get better signal its one of them pre pay wireless routers from three

That's your problem I'd imagine. I had one of those for nearly 2 years, the lagg was unbelievable and I kept getting thrown out of games. When I did pull host the game was unplayable for everyone else.

Are you using a wi-fi hub for the dongle? If possible try connecting it to a computer, and running a LAN cable from that to the ps3 to see if it helps.

mobile broadband is horrendous for online gaming, you'd be better trying to get a fixed line, magnet do a no contract 40 quid a month 24mb line, see if they have it in your area.

I had O2 broadband once and the ping times would have been faster if carrier pigeons were relaying the info to the servers. its not designed for online gaming.

Its funny how you got picked so much, I rarely ever got host on an average connection. i have that magnet 24 mb on order, bye bye eircom!

cheers for the help guys I moved my router nearer the window and have had better luck since, its not a dongle its a wireless prepay router so its better connection than the dongles. I had my xbox wired up to a laptop using one them dongles before, it was painful lol im using an ethernet cable from my router to the ps3 because the wireless in the ps3 is crap for some reason
