Just a quick question, I applied for the VEC grant and they rang me asking me to send in a proof of welfare income from Welfare for myself and my mother. Do we both need to go to the local welfare office to get this or is there a number we can ring?

You will need to go to your local office.

Can you not use the pay slip you get when you collect the dole?

No. the VEC need a statement (one each for you and your mam) from sw stating exactly how much each of you got from sw, and the name of the payment you got, from 1st january 2010 till 31 december 2010. asap, ok?

You can also order a statement online depending on the scheme you and your Mom are on.

I used the online system three months ago and got no reply so one month ago rang the department and still have received nothing. I would suggest do not bother with the online system I have heard a few cases where people have used it waited months and got nothing. So put it in writing or email or ring the office would be my suggestion
    This is who i ring

The OP doesnt say what payment either she or her mother are on, so they should ring the approriate department, or maybe got to their local SW office.

I needed one for the grant too, called in to my local SW office (Navan), and had the statement posted out within 2 or 3 days!:D
