hello I recently installed utorrent on my new computer and found when i download a file and open it in utorrent it does not give me the option to select individual files within the torrent unlike a previous version I had on my old comp. Is this a feature of the new version of utorrent or is there a way around this as It is very convenient to be able to download specific files esp when torrents are big > 5gb and you only want a couple of albums.
    thanks boardies

Use a different client, utorrent has gone to the dogs, there is evidence of malware being present in new versions.

Deluge is a good one, I just use my browser, Opera has a client built in.

make sure under options the 'detailed info' option is ticked and assuming it's not a single rar'ed or zipped file, just select the torrent in the main window and go to the 'files' tab at the bottom and choose what you want to download by right clicking on each file or group of files and picking your priority or 'do not download' from the list.

only if Teutorix is a time traveller. :)

he posted his comment on 6th September, but the story you linked to is about what seems to be an isolated incident that happened on the 14th September for approx. 2 hours on the utorrent website (according to the article you linked to).
