took on the job of changing the brake shoes on my 00 focus 1.8 Tddi, managed most of it ok until it came to getting the hubs back on, i expected to be able to adjust the adjuster but dont seem to be able to so i put on new shoes pushed on the hubs thinking it might adjust itself but didnt, hubs are now tight up against the hubs....should the adjuster move? some way to give room for the new shoes? there is a little screw like thing on the adjuster but it dont move, should it move? is it siezed and maybe i need to get new adjusters?

any help here would be great cheers

This will probably sound like I'm being a dick, but here's my advice.

Bring it to a mechanic. If you don't know what you're doing then brake shoes is not the place to start.

Without seeing it no one can tell you 100% whats wrong. The adjuster on these are quite easy to let back. There is a large flat metal piece between the two shoes. It has a small round bit with grooves on it and another large quarter circle grooved piece against it. This is what locks the adjuster mechanism. It self tightens a certain amount but to let it off you need to push the quarter circle part away from the other. It's easier to explain by physically showing you.
