Ive been living at my partners for the last few months. I'm claiming UA, hes getting household benefits. I notified the local SWO of my new address a yr ago and now a letter came in the door today.

Its basically saying that my partners household benefits have ended because I am registered at this address and receiving UA which is not a qualified payment.

Your tv license is no longer valid.

So what benefits do Household benefits cover? Is it just the TV license?

Also some of the electricity and heating costs via Winter Heating Allowance, especially in winter. Possibly telephone line rental as well, although that might have been removed. Not sure if Rent Support is affected. Automatically happens if someone eligible for those supports is known to have anyone other than their spouse or children living at the same address.

Ok thx for the info, looks like i might be moving out if that is the case.
The letter was not very detailed only confirming tv license as being cut. guess a call to the SW will clarify the situation.

Its possible that he'll have to buy a new one immediately, thus the bit about it in the letter. I know that Fuel Allowance and Winter Heating are also cut the second an unmarried partner starts to cohabit :(
