Im about to appeal an autumn exam result tomorrow and would like yer opinion on some things.
Im appealing on the grounds of circumstances that the exam board were not aware of.
During the summer the responsibility fell on me to take care of my mum and younger siblings (im the eldest fo 6). My mum's been suffering severe headaches all her life and they get to bad to the point where its painful for her to sit upright. Recently things got worse and she now has high blood pressure and numbness of her arm when she gets these headaches. My dad works in england and can only be home from friday to sunday.
I found out that i had to come back and do a practical exam in august. Stressful enough on its own without having the added worry of my family. I suffered from insomnia and lack of appetite all during the time i was in cork for the exam (im from claire.)
During the exam i had what i could only describe as an anxiety attack with tremors, sweating and rapid breathing. after trying to calm myself down and failing i brought it to the attention of out supervisor but i was just told to carry on. I have every belief that this is the sole reason that i did badly in that practical (which involved drilling a cavity in plastic teeth) and im appealing on these grounds.
I found out this morning however that i cant get the documents i need to prove mums condition. what do you think my chances of getting the appeal upheld without them are?
    sorry this is so long!!!!
