I'd like to say I'm surprised it's so cheap, but I'm not.
Bad product idea which was destined for failure

I gotta tell you that you have no idea what youre talking about. Monstrous in America and cupcakes do great business here.

These cost $50 in America.... i'll never forget that advert so long as I live...

The packaging is awful I have to say, I knew where it was in tesco but I still struggled to find it amongst the other jml junk. JML packaging might work for super slicers, microfibre cloths and crap like that but for anything to do with food you need vibrant packaging. Someone needs to tell them about 99designs.com!

Looks like something you'd find in a €2 shop.

Perhaps it isnt the exact one (though its the 'big top cupcake') but I saw one of the moulds while i was in the states (the $50 ones) and it was very good quality, not flimsy at all, and they were raved about by several locals while I was there.

Guess the only way for me to find out is to head to Tesco. Do they do these in all of them (i.e. the ones in Dublin city centre) or does it need to be a Tesco Extra?

Picked 1 up in Tesco Ballybrack - reduced to €1 now - great early stocking filler, also includes cupcake receipes so I now what daughter will be delighted.

Picked one up in Tesco for 9.99 around a month ago, VERY hard to get a good cupcake out of them as so big. The middle doesn't seem to cook well.

I found the same thing, only tried the once though and it was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle:o Its a nice idea but very hard to get a recipe that actually works. Someone suggested doing a biscuit type cake in it, but I'm not sure that would work well either as it would be hard to portion it

Did you use the lid to depress the middle? I have to knock 20C of all recipe temps for our fan oven.
