SMS Problems, Android 2.2.1

Ok here is the problem i am having, dont know what is gone wrong.

I have had the samsung galaxy ace for the past 5 months, everything been going great and have had no problems with it whatsoever, up until last week when all of a sudden i got like 10 messages through at the same time, from different people, by what was on them i knew they were at least a day late and others were several hours late. As you know with android the timestamp is wrong so theres no way to tell the exact time the sms was sent at.

So this morning i got 31 message through, (i kid you not) all coming through one after the other, some going as far back as thursday night after i rang a friend to check, this is absolutely rediculous. It hasnt happened to me before over the past 5 months so why is it happening now? The phone is with meteor from the start so i didnt change networks or anything, i live in the centre of my town so coverage isnt an issue. Its very frustrating as i have to text all these people now and tell them i wasnt ignoring them etc?

Has anyone else had any similar problems? And if so is there a way to prevent it from happening again? Is there an update/patch i can get which might help? Just dont want this happening on a regular basis you know, i hope someone can help me.

What sms client are you using?

Just the standard one that came with the phone.... Dunno what type it is, anywhere i can check?

Try using a different one and see if it makes a difference.
