    Hi All,

I need some help re wedding invitations, the mrs and myself went looking for invitations all last week both online and in shops in and around Cork for our wedding next April, we will be inviting approx 240 guests so we estimated that we would need around 130 invites & reply cards. I know we could probably do these ourselves but don't want to take the chance of them being shabby looking.

We have got prices ranging from €340 right up to €550 for the 130:eek:, I really thought I was gonna get all this for €250 or less, am I mad? Or does anyone know of a website/shop which is doing deals?

We are trying to do our wedding on a budget but it seems that everything is more expensive than we thought................current estimate incl. short honeymoon is €25k:eek:

Hi ssbob, sent you a pm with details of a reasonable supplier

Are you dead set on sending reply cards??
More expense if you ask me, a few invites we received in the last yr or so, didn't have reply cards, just a phone number and email address and that is what we did. Our RSVP date was last Friday and we only had about 5 people left to hear back from.. We have since heard from them over the weekend.

We got our invites from DIY weddings, €120 for 75 invites...
Got alot of compliments for them!

I got mine on vistaprint.ie, you can personalise them with images etc lots of choice and quite reasonable. also matching items if you want.
Planning on doing my thank you cards with them as well. Just a thought.

Plus one for Vistaprint, that's who I'll be going with. No point on spending money on invites imo

A friend of mine used http://www.celticimage.ie/. Their website if awful, but the invitations were perfect!
Invitations are €1.50 each for the standard ones, or they do a package with 100x invitations, RSVP cards & thank you cards for €200
Most of the designs are celtic, but they have others in the "contemporary designs" page

Do you have the ebay seller? Were they personalised?

Look on eBay people! There are a few vendors on there, it depends on your taste! This is just one I found - http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/fantashtique-design/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

They don't advertise shipping to Ireland but they said they would when I asked.

BTW, there's also the option of making them yourself...

    Have you tried Roman House?

    Have you tried Roman House?
Yes,found it very outdated and a bit tacky to be honest.

My sister in law got married a couple of years ago and I picked her up a couple of boxes of invites and evening invites. They printed the inserts themselves and they looked very good. For 100 invites and 100 evening invites it coat €60 and then the printing costs which were minimal. I got them in budget greeting cards wholesale in dublin, if you know someone with a registered company check it out

I ended up getting mine from a girl on ebay. She is based in Kildare and her invitations are really cheap for the quality of them. The photos on her page do the invitations no justice at all.

I didn't actually get mine here, but online at Bride & Groom. They have a good selection, let you get free samples, and you can print them in whatever ink you like.

BTW - A friend of mine got married recently, and got her invitations at Roman House. I thought they were quite tasteful, and didn't look at all tacky...But that of course is only one design I saw.

We went into Roman House and found a lot of the invitations outdated, the staff seemed to think the sale was already made and they were quite expensive aswell, the problem with Roman House is that they are an agent for 2 invitation companies so price wise they will find it hard to compete. They do however offer a great service otherwise.

We made our own along with the order of service and thank you cards. It saved us a fortune and we had fun doing it.

We are getting ours from pocketfoldinvitations.co.uk

They are a lot cheaper than diyweddinginvites which we looked at too. They do kits of 25 including the RSVP, inserts etc for £25.

You do the printing yourself but its fairly straight foward.

If you register they send out codes for 20% discounts, usually on english bank holidays.

I ordered some to view as a sample a few months back just to see the quality and they were outstanding.

We are going to wait until the next discount offer to order ours, we will be ordering 100 sets so we will get them for £80 / €100. :)
