If i had to move in to a new apt. i'd check FIRST for noisy neighbours and if needed get some sound proofing done.I had terrible problems with a noisy Shinner and was up against the local mob for a while. Many new apartments in dublin are rubbish though mine has many great points sound is'nt one of them.If he has no social life a pc could be ideal.

Have you got a nice picture/photo that would mean something to him? If so, maybe get it framed so he can put it up somewhere.

You could make him a little hamper of helpful things like towels and bed linen. You can never have too much of either!!!

A beer fridge full of beer :D it'll give him an excuse to invite buddies over to chill out so he won't be lonely then :)
