    Hey

Just want to know if anyone has ever had a problem with this before, is it a common fault of passats?

Whenever i drive over 60 mph the whole car vibrates, think it may be a buckled wheel but just wanted to know if any one had a smiliar problem and any advice on it?

VW Passat 1.9 year is 2005.

    Thanks

when did u last track the tyres?it sounds like tracking as any car doing that speed would vibrate if not done.does the car pull more to one side?

Wheel tracking/alignment can't cause a vibration. It would be wheel balancing that your thinking of.

Is the vibration coming through the steering wheel?

When balancing the wheels whoever is doing it will be able to tell you its its simply the balance thats off or if you have a wheel or tyre issue causing it.

It is quite unlikely for tracking to cause a vibration IMO

This is prime speed for wheel imbalances to show up. It may be as simple as a wheel weight has fallen off up to a buckled wheel or a wire broken in a tyre.

OP: Take a careful look at all your tyres for any obvious problems and it would be my suggestion to take it to a professional tyre centre and get the wheels checked for serious buckles and balancing

I had the same problem with my 08. The vibration would start at 110 KPH but then it would go at 140 KPH and then stay away. It turned out to be a front wheel bearing.

    Check the top shock mount.

They do fail and can cause a vibration.

Not dangerous but will need to be sorted if that is what's wrong.

Thanks a mil for the replies,

Taking car to Tyre place on Sat.

I think its the balancing of the wheel alright, or buckled wheel.

    Thanks again!
