I have 45 dollars worth of amazon.com credit. Unfortunately this credit can only be used on the amazon.com website and not the uk one. Does anybody know of a way I could get the credit out? Fully or even partially ?

You can't. Just spend it on Amazon.com.

You may be allowed buy amazon vouchers with them and then sell these (at a loss) on sites like adverts.ie or sell them on to a friend a bit cheaper.

But check out if they are easily transferred etc first.

Unfortunately the credit is already in my account and buying anything on the us site is extremely uneconomical due to the fact that they charge 20 usd for shipping and then charge for customs aswell

This depends on the item and the value, I just tried a DVD there on amazon

    Items: USD 8.99
    Shipping & Handling: USD 6.48
    Total Before Tax: USD 15.47

If your overall value is under €22 there is no VAT, so if you did separate 2 orders with separate postage under €22 you will have no charge. You would have to work out which is cheaper, combined shipping or the VAT.

From what I have seen the €22 limit is often just applied to the item when figuring out if it is over €22, but once over this the VAT is calculated on the postage too.

So €22 is about $31, so if your item was $30 with $15 shipping I think it is more likely to get through than an item of €44 with $1 shipping.

Do not take this as a fact though, it can be valued on combined shipping & item, I just don't think I ever recall hearing it happening like that.
