my washing machine doesn't seem to be filling.

somehow my washing machine stopped filling. i searched the web for a whirlpool aowo/d 4305 manual without success, i felt it was airlocked so i closed the valve and disconnected it from the mains. no problem with the mains supply. reconnented the water, started a cycle. the clothes got wet but the machine did not fill. the machine turned but nothing else happened. not sure what to do next. advice anyone?

I was going to suggest checking the valve,not sure if you've already done that
