Hi Folks, I am after buying an 06 Passat highline. The electric lumbar support on the drivers seat is not working. I can just about feel it move up and down but not moving in and out. I hear the motor going but sounds like it is slipping.

Has anyone else encountered this and is it an easy fix ?

    Hi chickenfarmer!
Not much help to you..but I have encountered the same problem in my 05' B6, except mine often refuses to work or move at all!
May be a common fault, but I would be interested if anyone has any ideas on the causes or solutions!

I had this exact same problem in my 08 Passat Highline. Could hear the motor running but no effect on the lumbar support. The garage fixed it and told me it was something like a plastic cog that had worn (I presume there is a strap across the back that is tensioned by an electric motor that drives a cog wheel). Can't say how much it cost as it was a company car (never see the maintenence bills).
