Hey all. I'm trying to decide on subjects for my first year, i'm doing latin american studies with arts and the subjects i'm doing are
    1)Latin American studies
    2)spanish
    3)philosophy

And i am thinking of doing soc-pol as well, would anyone here recommend it as a choice? I am quite interested in politics but the title of this subject gives it quite a challenging, daunting aspect and i would be interested to hear what people who do it have to say about it.

    cheers
    -Niall

It's very broad. Personally, I found it very interesting, even though I had no intention of keeping it on after first year. The lecturers are very good and it's a very common 4th subject to take. It's one of those subjects that's easy to pass and difficult to do extremely well in.

Politics was class, you do a few different subjects: politics in Ireland, political ideologies, Northern Ireland and another one I can't remember.
Sociology is deviance, feminism, Weber/Marx/Durkheim and another I can't remember.
