Hi everyone, Im currently in Florida and have tickets for the launch viewing of a Delta II rocket from Canaveral Air Force Station, viewing location is from the NASA causeway.... I know it's not a shuttle launch but I missed out on sts133 last year due to delays so I'm really looking forward to this one.

I'm wondering what the view will be like from the causeway seems tho it's launching from the air force base and not the space center...?

Oh and guess who will also be at the space center that that day? Only Star Trek’s Lieutentant Uhura, Nichelle Nichols haha I'm not a big trekie fan but it's a nice bonus :-)

Anyone I know who works/lives in the area seems to be very happy that they can view from from the causeway, so it should be a great view.

Jetty Park is only 3 miles from the launch pad as opposed to 8 miles that the NASA causeway is. It's free(save for a car parking fee i think) and as close as you're ever likely to get to a rocket launch.

Cheers for that lord Lucan, the viewing is included with the ticket to Ksc and with transport to and from the viewing location, if I was doing my own thing I'd be taking your advise on the jetty park cheers!

Still waiting to see the tour operator to see if transport can be arranged.. We have 2 days admission to the visitor complex so it's just a matter of getting here!

It's a bit sickening as this is the second time I've missed a launch coming from Ireland , I'll have to make do with Star Trek’s Lieutentant Uhura today haha and that's only if she's shown up too :-D

If I was a betting man I'd put money on it not happening today.

Well all I got looking at was the smoke trail from the Interstate 4 on my way to Tampa bay this morning, I'd already giving up 2 days for her and couldn't bank on another delay... :-(
