    someone tell jason booth http://www.commboxing.com/champions.html

    or did he relinquish it?

Crappy opponent, but couldn't expect much else at such short notice.

Could be a blessing in disguise, not sure if Frampton was ready for Kiko; it seemed slightly premature.

I assume it was vacated when he fought for the EBU title. Not sure exactly.

Agreed - The Kiko fight would have been sensational, but it will do him good to notch up some more rounds at this level first.

Hopefully he wins this in convincing fashion, looking at Quon's record anything apart from a convincing win will be a blow.

Never rated Kiko all that highly, honestly. If Frampton wasn't completely stupid I'd have expected him to at worst ease to a large points victory over Kiko.

By regular Irish boxing coddling standards Frampton is premature, but he's far closer to the ideal than most of our boxers in terms of progressing up the ladder at a non-anemic rate.

Of course he looks tiny, he's a Bantamweight in against a big Super-Bantamweight.

Who do you propose they bring in on a weeks notice ?

This starts on Sky Sports 3 at 8PM, right? Should his fight start around that time?

I'm looking forward to seeing Frampton more than I am McCloskey, who isn't very good to watch. Hopefully Prescott can make it a bit more exciting. Frampton is a lovely boxer though.

Ya coverage starts on Sky Sports 3 at 8pm. As I said fighter will be in the ring for the first fight 10-15 mins after that. Can't remember who's on first as it doesn't bother me, I really want to see both men in action.

I think McCloskey's reputation has been horribly tarnished by the Khan fight. People are describing him as an Audley Harrison type fighter who's afraid to throw a punch but that simply isn't the case. I know some people don't like his style (Walshb if I remember correctly), but many others enjoy his slick southpaw style, making opponents miss wildly and punishing them with sharp, hard countershots. The one problem McCloskey does have though is that he often punches in 1's and doesn't put his shots together.

But I think with Prescott's come forward attitude and crudeness, we're going to be in for a cracking fight. The Frampton fight will probably be one sided and short but good while it lasts, I expect Quon to be game.

A bit like Junior Witter I think.

Frampton looked impressive in his outing against the aussie stand-in

and even better still, Barry McGuigan saying they're willing, and WANTING to fight anybody on offer, saying they wont go hiding

thats the kind of stuff we need imo,

im already looking forward to Framptons next outing

I really would love to see the modest Frampton put a fist firmly in Big Bang's mouth n bring him a dose o reality.
