    I recently acquired an iPhone 3G. It seems to be working okay but the wifi on it won't scan for networks. I tried the Reset Network Settings option and I also tried downgrading the iOS. No joy.
    Anyone out there got any advice?

    ADDED NOTE;
    I was on iOS 4.2.1 before downgrading, now on 3.2.1, both are jailbroken. Even without the jailbreak it was no use.

    PLEASE HELP! :(

    If you have the iphone on top of the wifi router will it find it on a scan? If so could just need a new wifi aerial.
    If not see video below

    I've tried the above method on maybe 10 phones and its never lasted, sometimes you'll get the wifi back for an hour, maybe a day other times

    See the connection labelled No:6 below .(not 5)

    That is the connection from the WiFi antenna to the mother board .

    It is common enough for that to pop out (eg)if phone got bad fall .

    Its a simple button connection that may just need to be pushed back in .

    Pop out the 2 screws on base of phone and have a look ... your phone will have same labels .

    If its secure then it may be the wifi antenna needs changing.
