Is he a member of the local branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association? Because, down here in Kilkenny, all Wheelchair tickets for AIF's are done through them. Maybe give them a ring tomorrow morning and see if they can help you out

Failing that, maybe put in a request to the local radio station. That's how I got my tickets for the 1999 (had to meet someone in Laois the night before the final; his son ended up in hospital and couldn't bring him) and the 2000 hurling finals. You could also try giving the County Board a buzz if you haven't already. They really are like gold dust but don't give up trying. Hope you get going :)

IWA is probably your best bet. They are given the main allocation for wheelchair users. Tickets to football final are going to be gold dust though, so I would try and give them a ring first thing monday morn

I am a parnell park ticket holder which entitles you to purchase a ticket on the tuesday before a match.
However, for all matches previous to the final this year I have been buying a wheelchair ticket. The wheelchair ticket was only available on general sale each time.
For the all-ireland final tickets are NOT on general sale. This leaves me the problem as how to get a wheelchair ticket...
I rang the county board. I was told that the best thing I could do was ask for a wheelchair ticket and produce my Parnell pass.
This situation is hardly satisfactory because the Parnell park pass might not Guarantee me a wheelchair ticket.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I know from previous years that in Kerry you apply directly to the County Board office in Austin Stack Park for a wheelchair ticket and I presume it is the same this year.

I don't know what the story is with Dublin's allocation though unfortunately.

After ringing the GAA ticket office again...I was told its the Dublin County Board that allocates tickets. I rang the county board again. This time I got through to a woman who told me wheelchair tickets are sold on a first come first served basis. I explained that rang them the Monday after the all-ireland semi final where I was then told to ask for a wheelchair ticket when going to the ticket office with my parnell pass. The woman explained that I should not have been told that. She explained that the Parnell Pass Ticket and wheelchair tickets are completely different things. She told me all she could do was put my name down in case of any returns and to ring again towards the end of next week.
    I am not happy....

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I have no ticket and i'm not happy either, but if they're sold, then I accept that. Why would you ring up a radio station complaining? I just do not understand.

Thanks for that. Haven't had that good a laugh in ages.

Best of luck with the wheelchair tickets mate. Sounds like you've been rightly messed about.

The tickets never went on sale that's the problem and it's impossible to get a wheelchair one because no one has the correct information so it frustrating and annoying that's why I would ring a raido station to see if anyone knows how to get one -have you got wheelchair tickets before if you have I would be delighted if you could tell me how you got them

Update : I managed to get an ordinary ticket. Hogan Stand Lower right in the corner of the Canal/Hogan probably the worst view. But its a ticket nonetheless.
Only Hogan available no Cusack stand.
Tried to get a ticket where there would not be many steps all I could do.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I was at the league Final in probably 03, when Tyrone beat Laois. I was using a chair as I'd broke bones in both legs, but could hop along on crutches on the good leg.

There was space and free seating then, only being the league, and we were in the Cusack stand. There were spaces for wheelchairs at the last few rows in the lower deck, but it's a long way back. It's definitely covered though.
We got the lift up, so only had to roll 50 yards to a seat.

I'd imagine the Hogan's similar, if you approach from the Fitzgibbon st end of Jones Road you should be able to get in level to the back of the lower deck.

I actually like sitting at the turn on the canal and the main stands for football, It's much better than directly behind the goal or facing the 14 yard line in the main stands.

Also there's a fair few seats with only 2or 3 seats in a row, due to the turn. If your Bro can move from a chair to a seat, I'd say you could be able to swap with whoever has these seats for your tickets in the stand, then your bother shouldn't have to move much, like if he was at the end of a long normal row.
