Can you bring in a bodhran or a small drum into the Hill tomorrow? Are they allowed or are you risking getting refused entry or getting the drum taken off you?

drop a score to the man on the gate, by the way they don't like bottles but a few cans will be ok.

Yeah, because there's a real lack of atmosphere on All-Ireland final day... Some one banging on a drum for 70 minutes is exactly what's needed..

Who the hell would bang on a drum for a full 70 minutes

Bit of a kill joy arent we? The majority of the atmosphere comes from the hill on match days it certainly doesnt come from the stands. If you dont like atmosphere then sit in the stands i recommend.

    News update? Strange.

I suppose if we had it your way the atmosphere would be like a conversion in Thomand Park from start to finish.....

Nah, it's called a pillock battering a drum (where no reasonable person would bring a drum) and thinking he's the man while ruining a big sporting occasion for all those around him.

I'm guessing it was my failure to endorse ignorant behaviour that gave me away?

Just because you view it as 'ignorant' doesnt mean it is.

People bang drums and chant for their teams at games. Thats what happens. Come over to Tallaght Stadium once in a blue moon. Atmosphere is fantastic. Probably the best in the LOI.

But dont let atmosphere and the tribal nature of sport get in the way of your rant..

I agree. But the fact that it is ignorant means it is.

I won't be banging it for the whole match jesus just for chants. And its only a bodhran not a big drum. I was just wondering id they're allowed or id I'll get refused.

Ok, so while youve no intention of being at any of these venues what is the purpose of you being involved in the discussion.

I would have assumed this was for people who would actually be there no?

OP, you should be ok with a bodhran. Was on the Hill last week and several kids had them, but they were child sized not full sized.

OP, bring the bodhran. No problem I would imagine.Seen it plenty of times at matches and poses no danger to patrons or players/officials.

As for this thread, a bit petty the responses and the arguments that have ensued.Stick to the topic, are they allowed or not and not whether you think the OP should or shouldn't just for the sake of annoyance etc.

OP, Yes you are allowed bring it no problem and I see Dublin fans bring one on some occasions so you should be fine.

No just wondering if there was a reaction from the maors if you had. Might give you an idea on what to expect in Croke Park.

No need to be so defensive,no need at all.
Must be Donegal style rubbing off on you.
