Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

I would appreciate some simple tips to improve my website www.boudoir.ie

I have created this myself with no web design experience, just bluffed my way through. I will get it done professionally at some stage, but I think it is ok for now (maybe you think differently?!)

I would appreciate some simple tips for improving the rankings (I am ranked No.1 In Ireland for Boudoir Photography, but globally I can't even find my page)I know the main thing is to try and get more links, I have been trying, not very successfully.

    Thanks for any advice offered!!

p.s. website might not be considered "work place friendly" its not too raunchy, but there are photos of scantily clad ladies on the homepage.

DO NOT DISABLE THE RIGHT-CLICK FUNCTION.:mad::mad: That's infuriating for users. If someone wants to get your images they can just raid them from the page source or take screenshots. Either don't publish them, use a watermark or best of all, live with it and handle copyright issues using another method.

http://www.boudoir.ie//imgs/logos/9411_1278196194e56a916ea313.jpg is way too big pushing content too far down on pages. Classic example is tha gallery is pushed down when the images should be right in the middle with little or preferably no scrolling.

Some of the white text on light grey background in the headers is hard to read.

The Gallery navigation isn't great. Consider using a highslide or lightbox gallery. Also when a gallery is chosen, the first page should really have the large version of the first gallery image displayed.

You would be better off not using italics for text blocks. (About page)

BOUDOIR ON A BUDGET - €225.00 (EUR) paragraph is not in the same type as the others.

Something wrong with the map on the directions page.

Call your Guestbook something like Reviews or Testimonials.

    SEO
Use your page titles better for keywords/phrases.

You're stuffing keywords into your descriptions, not a good idea. Description tag is for descriptions.

I can't see any heading tags and some of your best SEO content (boudoir, photography, ireland, dublin) is in graphics so has pretty much zero impact.

You need to use alt tags for images more.

Great advice from Tricky D as always. I'd echo the point about resizing the banner down to something more manageable - it's currently 513px high, if you can get that down to 200-250px that will provide a better visitor experience, less scrolling all the time.

Regards SEO and ranking, you will rank highly for "boudoir" because it's in your domain name. You should do some keyword research and figure out what other words people might use to describe your services (forgive me if I don't list suggestions :)) and create some pages & content to help you rank for those. Also try to name your page names with words describing what's in them, e.g. retouching.html rather than page35106.html etc

btw despite the constructive criticism, this a pretty good site for someone with no web experience.

+1 a very good first time job.

Just a bit more on the right-click, it has messed up some of the functions on my browser: status bar and address bar displays are wonky.

NSFW in the title might be appreciated.
