a 7.4 lipo wouldnt do any harm to your fn2000, but if you use single shot and want good trigger repsonse time a 11.1 with mosfet will bring it up, but make sure to put the mosfet in other wise you'll get a carbon build up on the trigger mech.

An 11.1v lipo will also robably strip your gearbox.

Use a standard 8.4v battery or a 7.4v lipo. I use the 7.4v stock tube lipos in mine and it's grand.

I reccomend the Turnigy brand lipos. A 7.4V 35-50C lipo is what I'm running in mine and it's perfect, semi is snappy as and full auto is just perfect. Best thing about them is that you can fit a nice 1.6Ah battery into. Also converting it to Deans makes a beautiful difference.

In saying that though, mine's not stock anymore, but the stock one will take the lipo no bothers, it's on par with a high capacity 9.6v Nimh.

I use a 9.6v 25c Nimh in mine, lovely rate of fire, No issues battery wise.
Only modification from stock is to change the connectors to Deans which has
got to be the easiest, cheapest and most worth while upgrade you will ever do
    on an airsoft gun. :)

I've yet to venture into the Lipo world of airsoft having thus far seeing no requirement or
benefits from doing so, unless I come across a gun that's tight for battery space.
