    I am in the market for a new car (new to me ;)) i am wanting an economical and tidy hatch, am considering either a Kia Cee'd or Hyundai I30 both of these cars in the 1.6 diesel, give good value for money and fuel economy.... people help me out!!!!

    Hyundai didn't get the 5 year warranty till 09 I think.
    Also consider a focus as the place is full of them in diesel.

    What's your budget?

    Its pretty much down to which you like the look of most probably as both the i30 and Ceed are the same car underneath. As Colm says the Ceed will have the longer warranty.

    In before anyone else, Octavia with the new 1.6CR TDi engine.:)
    (Though the present Octavia is starting to look a bit long in the tooth)

    I could stretch to about 12k budget, haven seen too many ford focus... might be a little price prohibitive.....:confused: would like to go for an 08 or newer to take advantage of the lower tax costs.

    I like the look of the i30, looks far better than the Focus imo and one of the nicest looking cars in that class.
    Think they have an automatic 1.6 diesel aswell but not sure if it was available here or just in the UK.
