Travel around Europe

My plan is to head off next summer around Europe, will probably start in Eastern Europe and work my way into central Europe, I'd love to hear from anyone who has done anything similar. I've nothing in mind as regards an itinerary so am completely open to suggestions.

I'm thinking I'll probably have to pick up a bit of work somewhere along the line, I have basic German but that's it! Any suggestions as to what kind of work I'd pick up? I'm a qualified teacher here but am not guaranteed work after June here.

Finally what kind of a budget would I need to aim for if the plan was roughly to travel around Eastern Europe for 4 months and then travel/work in central Europe?

Maybe take a tefel english course and teach English in western europe. Appart from that I can't think of suitable work, possibly English tour guide?

Budget is completely your choice.. cheapest is to camp and live rough, not drink smoke. Could be worth having a bike to get around.
