Black ops won't work on my ps3

Hi guys

Iv a ps3 250gb connected to a HD 42" tv

Recently COD black ops isn't working , it's displayed on the xmb menu but when selected the screen goes blank & stays blank

The key thing is that the disc isn't damaged/scratched and works fine on my brothers ps3

Iv deleted all game data and saved game data to no avail

Can't find anything on google that has a resolution

Other games work fine although FIFA stops during gameplay sometimes

Any help much appreciated!

eh my mate had a similar problem but with a different game ill find out what he did


he was completely useless tbh he told me he fixed it alright but only after he done about 20 different things and hes not quite sure which one fixed it . to top it all off it was a while back and he says he cant remember much of what he did anyway

the same thing happened to me with my version of Black Ops.

went searching on google and youtube for answers

but to no avail ... in the end i brought it back to the shop where I bought it and got a swap... you could chance bringing it back to one of the shops and reporting it as faulty and you should get a replacement

otherwise I think you can get a replacement disc from Activision for 10euro

I tried the disc on another ps3 & it worked fine so do you still think swapping the disc would make a difference?

i think its something to do with the last update for it? because it happened to me too just after updating it

Maybe try deleting all the Black Ops data from your Ps3 (remember to back up your single player save files first!) and then download all the updates again, maybe the recent one caused some sort of problem?

Tried it again, and its working? working perfectly I dono what happened:L all i know is nuketown 24/7 is on:D:D

Mines working now!
It kept saying to update but then It froze. In the end I just left it & 5mins later it came on and the update downloaded.
It's very slow to turn on though but once its on it works fine

Its taking a life time to start up and then another 5 mins to get to multiplayer menu

when i join a lobby all is well until the match loads the bar to half way then stops and times out.

any help out there?
