This seems to be an unsure area for every championship match if a game ends in a draw, some fixtures are straight to replay where some have extra time, what is the situation if the All Ireland finals end in a draw?

fianna fail and the gaa have similar structures and this may be the reason, there was minor match there a few weeks ago and neither the officials players or commentators knew what was happening so they asked Bertie and he said extra time

Just seems to be a bit of a grey area immediatley after drawn games, an inter-county game a few weeks back ended in total confusion with players and match officials arguing over the outcome of the draw.

The minor match was always going to go to extra-time, in fact the county board had received notification of this in advance of the game, the fact that the management of the teams wasn't aware would not be the GAA's fault.

By and large, finals are always replays btw

I've seen the letter that was sent to the county board before the game and I have spoken to the Clare captain about it, I for 1 would be very harsh on the Clare minor management for their lack of preparation and wanted to make sure I have my facts right before going off on a rant.

Any yes I am a paid up member of the GAA

Considering you nave all that info you might enlighten the rest of us as to what happened on that perticular day and we may be a bit closer to getting an answer for the original poster.

    Thanks

What happened was neither management team thought to find out what happened in the event of a draw, the Galway County Board were quicker to react and inform their management that they had to go back out there and play on

Thanks for that, this indeed is like Fianna fail and is getting very amusing as not just the admin in one County board failed to do their job but both Counties did.
The whole purpose of the County board is to keep management informed so as they can inform the players of what is happening as at the end of it all they are the most important people or i at least think they are.

    Thanks
