I have a setup now with a cheap camcorder from argos but that shot was taken with an old nikon coolpix.

well spotted. yeah it gets in the way. thats why i used the old nikon for that shot because its not in the way at all and has a better viewfinder.
I didnt want to 'chance' a shot with the new camcorder so until I'm 100% confident with it ill only use it for shooting targets etc. I like to shoot magpies as much as the next lad but still there's no creature deserves to have its legs shot off to fly away and suffer!

The mount I used is designed for astral photography. it mounts any camera to any eyepiece. Got it on ebay for 30 squids i think. right handy piece of kit.
