We are on a Camp site near Bordeaux and the Fridge is refusing to work on Electric. We tried lots of different things to get it to stay on power but it keeps reverting to gas. We need to head further south and it's not possible with the amount of gas we have. Can anyone help with the problem, the fridge freezer is only two years old. Thanks.

Had a similar issue in France a few years ago.

    Mine was a FUSE issue.

Have a look at your fuses.

The fuses are okay. We also tried other cam p sites with different leaky points.

Just to mention it's a Thetford fridge and it throws up the spanner symbol and switches to Gas.

Is it working with the engine running?

Yes on Battery with engine running. It has switched on to Electric itself a few times but just for a short period of time.

there should be a number beside the spanner , that indicates what the problem is . Have you the manual? The numbers are in the troubleshooting section . Are all your trip switches for 220v up?

It's fault no.1 that is displaying when we move it manually to Electric. We also have a constant blue flashing light on Electric only. All the trips are in the correct position. Thanks

Justy have the Service manual in front of me...

Error Code 1 : AC Heater current is measured to be 75% (or More) below nominal current.

check if supply current to the van is good
check the 5a fuse on the Circuit board at the rear of the fridge (accessed from the vent)
    Check the AC heater impedance(ohms)
    Replace the Circuit board.

Further to that , I'd pop off the lower vent and see if the fridge has a 3 pin plug on it to supply the mains to the unit , and check it for a fuse , or a bad connection .

    Hope that helps.
