Huff, puff, rubbish Capello has set back english football 20 years.
Should have been sacked after the world cup.
FA is as much to blame - overpaying managers for the impossible job

He could easily pass for a Bulagarian Mafia boss.... especially with the sunglasses on and a fag sticking out the side of his mouth!

Dunno whats all the fuss about Englands team , looks fairly attacking to me, dunno what people expect from a team playing away from home against a decent side in Bulgaria.

Theres 2-0, Rooney with a header from a corner.

    Great climb by Wayne!

    G'man Rooney.

    Guardians take

Film noir's Dimitar Berbatov, who has prematurely retired from international football, in order to suck down filterless cigarettes, wear wide-brimmed hats, discuss existentialist philosophy in bistros over very strong cups of coffee, and listen to west-coast jazz.

    :D

Rooney 3-0. United link up Young and Rooney. Too easy for them, Bulgaria a shambles

So maybe Capello knows more than a few lads on boards.ie about what line up he should use?

Interesting! Who would've thought it?!

You're right, they're beating Bulgaria, it's the line up for the future.

Capellos job is to pick a line up to win a tough away game. He's done that.

Show me the team you would've picked please

What could have been done to change your mindset from before kick off? You described the game as shocking and the line up as less than inspiring.

England then scored 3 times in the first half, on a bad pitch in a grim, shabby venue. Capello won't be at all disappointed with this, but some fans are just never satisfied with what the team do.

haha, no, that would be pointless, I think it's a crap line up, now that they're 3-0 up I still think it's a crap line up. Me posting another line up won't change the fact that I think the current line up is a crap line up.

    Try harder next time.

Jesus. You suck at the internet.

Capello's line up has proven to be an excellent one for the game tonight, you should just be man enough to admit you were wrong.

Jesus fúcking christ, I never said they wouldn't win, they sure as hell should win. That doesn't change my opinion that it's not a very good England line. How fúcking hard is that to understand?

Your issue was with the team Capello picked which implies you feel he couldve picked a better line up from the options he had available.

Come on Jose, what would you have lined up with? Cause the one he has lined up with is doing quite well, to put it mildly.

England were ****ing awful in that 2nd half

To be fair, the job was done in the first half.

There was no need to go in at 100% in the second half and risk injuries and suspensions. England did a fairly good job of slowing the pace right down, as boring as it may have seemed.

Parker and Barry were actually quite good tonight as a shielding pair too. Professional victory, if not the most exciting.

Barry aside I thought it looked like quite a good line-up personally. The front four would be a handful for any side, and the rest was a solid enough platform to visit the likes of Bulgaria.

    Awful lineup from England. It should have been;

    4-4-2

Foster, Smalling, Ferdinand, Jones, Brown, Welbeck, Carrick, Cleverly, Young, Rooney, Owen.

Why would you Brown at left back and Owen starting? Also Wellbeck right mid?

I think Brown is experienced enough to play the left back position. He showed he can use his left foot when he assisted the opening goal of the 2008 Champions League final. If it didn't work out, I think Kieran Richardson would have been good back up.

Owen is still a lethal striker and would thrive under the service of Ashley Young, Daniel Welbeck, Tom Cleverly and the greatest player in the world, Wayne Rooney.

Welbeck showed at Sunderland last season he is more than capable of being deployed in a wide berth. His immense strength, electrifying pace, workman like attitude and quality delivery in the final third makes him the most suitable selection for the right hand side of midfield.

I disagree. Wes Brown has rarely if ever played on the left hand side of a defensive 4. I think it would be very unclever to put on there for such an important qualifier game. I wouldn't have Richardson either, I think Phil Neville of Everton would be an excellent choice for that position.

Owen is far from the clinical striker he once was. Bereft of pace, he is now a shell of the player who once banged in goals for the greatest team in English football history, Liverpool Football Club. I imagine the service would of course be excellent, but would Owen have the capabilities to finish it off. At this moment in time I say no.

Welbeck is best suited as a striker, he's in form, why take him out of there? Put him up front, play him where he is best suited.

I think his bison like power is perfect for the traditional number 9, as is the way he deftly lays the ball off to supporting players, similar to the way a fawn deftly glides about the field, awestruck by the intangable feeling that is life.
