Advice needed to select good AEG

I'm new to Airsoft and at the moment I've just got one pistol, a TM MEU and would like to get a good M4 AEG now. I'd appreciate some advice on choosing the right gun - is anything available right out of the box that is accurate, reliable and durable and not needing much in the way of upgrades to get the best from it. I like the look of the TM Sopmod but can't find this listed by any Irish retailers. The G&P Defender looks like another really nice AEG and fires close to the 1J limit but at least one of the reviews I've read on this have mentioned problems with the internals after short use but maybe that was just a lemon. Anything else that I should consider. Thanks for your help

I'll say G&G Raider, get a TBB and a ultimate/guarder clear hop up and the thing is unreal, they're about 230 with the upgrade listed above you;re looking at 260-270. alot of people recommend them, if you cna stretch the budget get a Top tech M4.

I'm running a ICS SIR M4 and have no problems with it at all, fires true and is dead simple to service. but if your starting off it might be a bit pricy as a first gun.

The Raiders do seem to be the favourite as of late so look into that aswell.

    What's your price range?

The G&G raider is a fantastic piece of kit for the money - robust and reliable.

However if you're looking at G&Ps - then the VFC E-series would be worth a look. Absolutely rock solid guns - no wobble, no creaks, nothing. Their gearboxes are brilliant, I know lads who run them on 11.1V lipos with no issues and I've done it myself.

G&P gears have a tendency to shear off at the the axle because the shells tend to be slightly misaligned meaning that the gears are at a slight angle.

Thanks for the replies lads. I have read that the G&P gears should be shimmed and also that the guns sometimes come from the factory without proper lubrication. Do any of you have experience with this one http://www.airsofteire.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=892&category_id=14&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26

They don't need to be shimmed, they need to have a properly machined shell, but anyway. They're good, they're fast and snappy, but usually within a few thousand rounds the axle on the sector gear and bevel gear snaps.
