A few months back I gave my dad my Iphone 3gs when I moved on to Android. Everything worked as normal up to a few weeks ago. Everytime you try download an app , after about 10 seconds the message "unable to download application" comes up and says it'll be available to download next time your on itunes on the computer. I've done a bit of googling and tried various things, including resetting the phone, but no luck. Any ideas? cheers

I've had that occasionally but it right it self after I attempt to get an app a few times. Always got the impression it might be the app store not the phone being glitchy.... But it doesn't sound like it in your case.

Is there enough free space on the iPhone?

loads, there was only about a gig of music on it . Apps had been cut down to about 20 by the time I got to the phone today. I did a reset so theres nothing on the phone now bar what it comes with from the factory. I even deleted my apple ID off it and set him up with a new one of his own.

Actually just remembered another issue that others have had, going by stuff I'm finding when googling. Around the same time this started, youtube stopped working on it too. Others seem to have the same issue. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2674716?start=0&tstart=0

Try doing a restore. Is it jailbroken?

Nope, its stock. Restore is next on the cards. Not likeing the tales on other sites of it reoccurring though.

Having similar problems with iphone 4s. Bought it in the Apple Store in Belfast to use in the Republic. Won't download apps directly to the phone and also can't get into Facebook etc. Can download apps via pc. Hoping not to have to head back up to Belfast again so anybody out there with any thoughts. Have carried out a complete restore but no joy

Is Facebook saying your username/password is wrong even though you know it's right?
