Strange that players who have played youth football in Scotland aren't classified as Home-Grown in England. Graham Dorrans for example?

Yeah, I was wondering that too.

I suppose because they're different countries under FIFA/UEFA all rules apply.

    5. Sebastien Bassong
    6. Sandro
    7. Vedran Corluka
    8. Carlo Cudicini
    9. Heurelho Gomes
    10. Michael Dawson
    11. Jermain Defoe
    12. Giovani Dos Santos
    13. Brad Friedel
    14. William Gallas

    17. Ledley King
    18. Niko Kranjcar

I'm suprised at the 4 keepers though they did have to name them.

I was wondering about this earlier, why would Welsh players be included and not Scottish?

The Welsh players would have developed at an English club.

Dorrans passed 21 in Scotland, when West Brom bought him, so he's not home-grown.

    Nope

A home-grown player will be defined as one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the Season during which he turns 21).‬‪

Presumeably the FAW is for Swansea?

Liverpool not announced yet, but will be -

    Reina
    Doni
    Jones (HG)

    Johnson (HG)
    Carragher (HG)
    Skrtel
    Agger
    Enrique
    Aurelio

    Gerrard (HG)
    Adam
    Lucas
    Downing (HG)
    Maxi
    Spearing (HG)

    Carroll (HG)
    Suarez
    Kuyt
Bellamy (HG, the key 8th homegrown player)

I make that only 19! But that’s ok, only domestic competition this season, and we have a great under 21 group, the top 4 being in most matchday squads…

    Under 21s
Henderson (was under 21 at 1st Jan)
    Kelly
    Coates
    Flanagan
    Wilson
    Robinson
    Shelvey

(only naming those who have a few first team games to their names)

This rule stood before Swansea got into the premier league . There is welsh teams in the English leagues so they can't not let the players been brought through by these welsh clubs not be homegrown . If there was any scottish teams in the english professional leagues they would be included too .

Yobo will play if needed, he's under contract to us and though he wants to leave he still respects the club. Barkley, Rodwell, Gueye, Mustafi and Vellios are all youth players likely to see game time this season.

    Iorfa, Dominic

Hope he's better than his old man.
