If you get a smart phone with Wi-Fi & have Wi-Fi in the house - Can you use SKYPE?

How much is it to ring an Irish mobile or landline thru skype?

Firstly yes, you can use skype for free to ring other skype numbers. The three network also allow you to use skype for free without wifi so can use it on the move.

To ring other numbers, you need skype credit or a plan. Which you purchase on the skype website.

I think there are two different versions of Skype, 3 Skype, which u download from 3, this uses 3g only, and cannot ring l.l.'s on this

The non3 version, u download from market, works over 3g or wi-fi, u can ring l.l.'s on this

You are correct that their is two different skype apps, one is for working with the three network that doesnt need wifi, and the other from the skype website that will work anywhere.

But you can phone landlines with the skype app from three if you have skype out credit. This wasn't the case at the launch of it, but was added later iirc
