I'm getting decent groups using Hornady 130gr interlock SST's.

PS: I'd be happy to buy the rounds that arent working off you, to see how they group in mine.... :)

Federal 130gr Soft Points (Blue Box) and Federal Premium 130gr Ballistic Tips (Red Box). You'll get both from John Lambert in Camolin and he'll courier them out to you. If neither of those shoots, I'd be having someone take a look at the gun, personally. To be honest, if I'd already tried as many types as you have and not found one that suits nicely I'd probably be doing so already. What sort of groups did you get with them?

    What problems are you having?

In case of my 270 found out early on it has a preferance for heavier bullets. At 100yds, used to print 160 gn Remingtons higher and a smaller group than 130's, strange. Have not been able to get those in Ireland, but for the last few years have been using SAKO 156gn, hammer heads. Big round nose, very accurate in my rifle, drop not really an issue over practical shooting, say to 250yds. Fantastic hitting power and penetration.

I'd also suggest the sst's from hornady..

Why does it have to be 130gr?? Maybe the bullet weight itself may be wrong and it may be worth trying a different weight?

I use 140gr sst's and they work well but 110gr Remington group very well in it!

I was thinking of trying 110 SST's myself, and 150gr Berger VLDs.

I made up a load of 90gr Speer TNTs (for foxing) that grouped Very well :D

Jw used to use them for neck shots on does and hinds, If I could load I would be doing that too!

From what I read they were develped specifically for coyotes

I havent had a chance to use them on anything but paper so far but If I get a chance this Sunday I might throw some more together and maybe get a shot at a few foxes with them next week. I would Imagine they would do a lot of damage neck shooting, bound to be very efficient given the rapid expansion of the round...

I hoping to use the 90gr for fox and 130gr for deer/goat this year, moving to 150gr VLDs for deer next year... Or at least that's the plan

Sounds like it might like lighter loads?
I would try changing head weight heavier and lighter to see what the groups do...

2" groups are nothing to brag about, a .270 is no target round, but it should shoot 1.5" all day with most bullets.

2" is still not what most guns will do these days. Just about anything should be able to shoot 1" groups. What is the gun? I'd get a gunsmith to look it over for crown, chamber, bore condition and concentricity. The archetypal .270 load is a 130gr bullet about 3060 fps. If it doesn't shoot that well, you've got a weird gun, and if the absolute best it'll do with a rather different load is 2", I reckon you have a problem.

Hey Mayoman, it sounds like you have tried enough different types of amo to suggest its more than just a fussy gun. Good advise from the guys re the bullet weight but before you spend a fortune buying different types of bullets I would get your mounts and scope checked out also as well as the barrel. I had what I thought was a similar issue a while back and it turned out to be an issue with the mounts for the scope.
Also if you dont mind me asking, and please dont take this the wrong way but have you been using a rifle long? and do you get much trigger time?. Again drawing from my own experiences I was blaming different bullets before but really when I got some cheep amo and put in lots of trigger time my grouping improved hugly. If you are releativly new to a rifle it might be a good idea to get someone elso who is well experienced to shoot it and see what they can do re groups.
Good luck with getting it sorted

    Spot on.
Used to load the 87gn TNT in a 25-06 during my time in the land of the free. unbelievable way out performance on coyote and bobcat. Equally dramatic performance in the 270 i'll bet.
