Toilet cistern problem - not filling or...

Toilet was working perfectly til this morning when it wouldn't flush. I took the cover off and tried to fill it manually to see if I could get it to flush but it doesn't seem to be holding the water, the water goes out as fast as it goes in almost but I can't figure out where it's going as theres no leak and it doesn't seem to be going into the bowl.
The shower pressure is also low and it isn't functioning properly.

Does anyone know why the water isn't staying in the cistern when I fill it?

Or what the problem might be? If the system was airlocked should I be hearing noises coming from the pipework?

Everything seems normal except the toilet isn't flushing as the cistern isn't filling automatically and the shower isn't working properly. And there are no unusual sounds or anything like that. When you depress the flushing button nothing happens as the cistern is empty and its not refilling at all.

    Would appreciate any advice

if the shower pressure is low to the shower and the water in the cistern fills but disappears. the cold supply could be filling the shower and the same wc and due to lack of pressure the shower could be sypnoning the water from the cistern.IS THE SHOWER ELECTRIC WITH A PUMP FITTED?
if its not visually going anywhere.its definetly getting drawn to some other appliance.for example wc upstairs and wc downstairs of the same cold supply and low pressure.the cistern will draw the water downstairs to fill that cistern first.
want to know how to solve it?
