4 year old girl drives on motorway

Video footage of a young girl driving a car along a busy motorway has been posted on the internet.

The tiny motorist gripping the wheel as she negotiates the traffic is believed to be just four years old.
Her parents apparently allowed her to drive along the road in Jinal, Shandong Province, China, filming her from the back seat of the car.
In the video, posted on YouTube by user wangdazhi712, the child called Jia Zheng by a man in the vehicle believed to be her father, can be seen calmly overtaking other cars.

View of the child at the wheel.
After a couple of minutes the man is heard apparently saying: "Jia Zheng, stop the car. Let daddy drive."
Once the car is pulled over, the man gets out, walks around to the driver's side and gets behind the wheel as the girl moves onto the back seat.
He is seen removing some sort of implement from the driver's footwell that appears to have been used by the girl to operate the pedals.

She's actually a skilled driver.. Her parents let her do it.. Fairly irresponsible but better than most of the 17 year old on our roads IMO..

She's got 3 years no claims bonus, so it's not too bad. :D

Yes, it is indeed "fake" as some off you all scream. Yes, the girl is genuinely at the wheel, but she is NOT in control of the car. Everything is being operated by remote control, from the back seat.

You've seen it on Top Gear, and Fith Gear...it's quite easy to rig up a remote control unit if you're electronic savvy, and with it, you can teach your budgie to sit on the wheel and then take a back seat and drive down the M6.

It's a nice gimmick, but a dangerous one none-the-less, as if anything happened (mechanical failure or a highway accident) then the parents of this child would not be able to take proper evasive actions.

    That's a decent theory.

    Still less than most males.

I'd say she was sitting on her dads lap. At the end he sneaked back into his seat. You can see the kid at the end been lowered down after getting off his knee.

If that's the case she's still steering! I'm going for the remote control theory.

I reckon the kid is a remote controlled robot - like a mini version of Enda Kenny.

A decent theory indeed, but it's clear to me that that poster is not very familiar with China.

It's seems much more likely to me that this is real.
Indeed this would not be the first time I've heard of something like this.

Well if the internet has taught me a lesson it's to question everything. Or be miserable and spread it everywhere. Or get fed up when a valid opinion is shunned. Or collapse in to a ball of self hate and depression. Aw.

I'm pretty sure it's real... Unless proven otherwise!

Well if it's real what about the pedals? Cruise control? Whatever about the ability of a four yr old to steer a car (not that hard to be fair) throttle control or turning oin cruise control is a wee bit more complex. I still prefer the R/C option.

[edit] Just watched it again there...at the end the dad removes some clips from the pedals, that look like they extend the height.
If she was sitting on his lap (possible) he wouldn't need these, but then again the seat looks to be very far back on it's rails...it looks hoaxed, other wise why wouldn't the camera pan back to show the driver seat with only her on it...

Shenanigans. She was as tall at the wheel as her Da, yet when she moved she hadn't been sitting on anything.

if it is a hoax, and I suspect it is, its was feckin irresponsible to let her sit there "driving" with no seat belt on

Airbag would have killed her anyway in the event of a collision...

Better than most Irish drivers. I saw a guy yesterday try to merge by stopping in the acceleration lane.
