    Have a firebird enviromax boiler.Recently noticed heat not coming on,so after a few checks,found the fan runs,it fires for a very quick burst,maybe a second or so,then stops.Bled it,but still the same.Any ideas? Cheers in advance guys

    its a condensing boiler.low pressure is your problem .johnycrash want to know how to fix it?

    however donedl identified a poss problem ( this time).But i would say i am correct.listen to what the op said he has been venting the system, has he checked the pressure or topped the system up after venting.this time of the year its a common problem.not just on this model of boiler, but all models.however as donedl stated another good bit of advice (twice in the one day) . I would recommend the boiler is serviced once a year to mitigate these problems.

    donedl .you never responed to my friend request.

    Cheers for replies guys
    @Marcanthony,when i said i bled it,meant the oil supply to burner for air locks,not the system,so WRONG:D:D:D
    @DoneDL,after posting my prob,consulted the expert on DIY,my dad,and first thing he suggested was the photo cell also.So,just after getting home,located the cell,was as black as the ace of spades,quick clean,hey presto,back in action.Top marks sir,go to top of class:D

    debatable......................... i would like to see a sworn affidavit from your father to confirm confirmation of the repair....however when you said (been a lay man) bleed .i took for granted you bleed the heating system...however i did agree for once with donedl in this post as a poss problem.

    however..............donedl..............................i am a great beliver miracles never seize..............congratulations.........

    Very common on the RDB, moreso than the G3B and a very good indicator that the boiler does need a service, and will require a Flue gas annaliser so your local Oftec man is the way to go.

    hi mr bunting,

    no need for me to use capitals in this post. Its a relief to come across a man that knows his stuff. i bet you are constantantly busy.(dont let out the secret how that happens). my reading this post you must be a service man that specialises in boiler servicing and i hope the ops reading will acknoledge that pros dont talk thru their h*le for the sake of it.

    Thanks mr bunting. you have restored my faith.........i suppose thats the difference between the premiorship and non league football.
